Integration approaches: agree the purpose and boundary.

Prepare your data sources and the actions a connection would support. CRM, REST, webhooks and MCP are integration approaches to scope, not automatically included working connectors.

CRM connections

A CRM could be the source of customer history and opportunity ownership. Before a connection is scoped, identify the system of record, necessary fields, data owner and allowed update direction. Distinguish reading context from changing a record. No vendor-specific connector or sync behaviour is promised here.

REST and webhooks

REST describes a defined request between systems; a webhook announces an event. Planned uses may include reading approved context or notifying that review is needed. Define the exchanged data, authorization and error handling during scoping. Technical contracts are agreed before implementation.

MCP and bounded tools

Model Context Protocol (MCP) is a planned approach for connecting bounded tools and business context. Define which information and actions are available, who authorizes them and where human approval is required. Start with a commercial task and assess whether MCP is appropriate.
